About Me
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I’d like to introduce myself- I’m Antonia Henry, Owner and Head Coach of A1 Fit Coaching.
I help busy professionals get fit, eat better and live pain free with customized nutrition, exercise and rehab programs.
I’m NASM CPT & SFS (certified personal trainer & senior fitness specialist), and 200hour RYT (registered yoga teacher). I’m also currently a M.S. in Applied Exercise Science candidate at Concordia University Chicago.
After spending 7+ years working in sales for a variety of Fortune 500 tech and software companies, I finally decided to turn my passion into my full-time career. After years of long meetings, insane travel schedules and client dinners, I know both the upsides and downsides of the life of a busy, driven corporate professional. I help people just like you make health & fitness fit into your life.
Rehab and corrective exercise prescription are also a big part of what I do. Chronic conditions such as back and neck pain, high blood pressure, and Type 2 diabetes can be positively affected, if not cured, through exercise and nutrition programs. I work collaboratively with other specialists (physical therapists, cardiologists, endocrinologists, ect) to implement an integrated wellness plan.
My own experiences with training, nutrition & rehab have inspired me to cut through the BS, and give my clients facts and education that they can lean on long after we stopped working together. My goal isn’t to keep you in the dark- I want to educate you. 6-12 months from now, you should have all of the tools and confidence to do this on your own. I want you to want to work with me, not need to work with me. See the difference?
I’m a relentless fitness geek, always learning and trying out new fitness modalities and training programming on myself. In the past I’ve dabbled, participated or competed in: Bodybuilding, Boxing, Kick-Boxing, Crossfit, Powerlifting, and Yoga. I’m also a PADI certified Advanced Diver with hopes of completing my Divemaster training in the not-so-distant future.

A little bit more about me:
My Personal fitness journey has taken lots of twist and turns, but I’ll highlight a few major ones below.
I grew up super active- playing soccer from age 4-18 and I even dabbled in Track (200m) for a few years
Senior year of college, I changed my birth control and gained 20 lbs in one month
6 months later, unable to get the weight off with a Title Boxing membership, I decided to get serious and find a Personal Trainer
I entered and won my 1st and only Bodybuilding competition after doing 80% of my own training and nutrition
Afterwards I was shredded, but weak and so I began Crossfit & Powerlifting- prioritizing strength over aesthetics. I had a spectacular coach & mentor who would dive into programming and the WHYs & I started working (informally) with other gym members on their nutrition
I placed in every Powerlifting meet, winning various medals and trophies
I suffered a few injuries that compounded on one another over a few years time
Between getting divorced, moving back across the country, and a new job, my physical & mental health suffered
I started coaching Group PT classes and totally fell in love with it
I hit “rock bottom” physically and dedicated myself to becoming pain free & I discovered Hot Yoga (at CorePower in SE PDX)
After 4 disastrous experiences at other Portland area clinics, I finally discovered Dr. Patrick Webinger & the team at Ascent Physical Therapy
I’m also completing an M.S. in Applied Exercise Science candidate at Concordia University Chicago, projected to graduate in December of 2020.
Now you’re up to date!
